Mrs Ansell’s daughter, Hilary Lewis, said,
“During her lifetime our mother worked tirelessly to raise funds for charity and we wanted to choose a suitable legacy in her memory. The Jewish Child’s Day project to provide play equipment for a children’s centre in Minsk felt very fitting and was particularly poignant given that our mother’s grandparents hailed from that region. We are happy that, as a consequence of this decision, these children can benefit from our family’s good fortune.”
Many children from this impoverished community benefit from using this delightful kindergarten, which doubles as a physiotherapy area for disabled children. More than this, it ensures the Jewish Community Centre here is vibrant and full of life. And the plaque on the wall bears testament to the lasting generosity of Mrs Ansell and her family.
