Thirteen-year-old Hanna shared her story with us: “Money was always tight at home, but we never really tasted poverty until the first morning in April when I opened the fridge and found some expired milk, 3 carrots and an onion. Receiving a box full of healthy goodies was such a relief. There was enough for my baby brother too, and when I told this to my support worker she kindly said: “keep the spares for lunch and we will send extra for the baby”.
Jewish Child’s Day is proud to support Young&Inspired in the UK, allowing them to deliver over 500 breakfast boxes to 168 families, each containing a neatly-packed disassembled sandwich, milk, veggies, fruit and extra face mask, along with a personal friendly note and sudoku puzzles.
