Nikita is a 5-year-old boy from Southern Israel. Looking at his bright face, it is hard to understand that underneath lies a plethora of challenges. At 6 months old, Nikita was diagnosed with severe epilepsy, cortical blindness and CP which causes severe developmental delay.
Nikita receives physiotherapy through the #TherapistsOnWheels programme delivered by The Malik Foundation. Their Therapists on Wheels Programme sends mobile paramedic therapists to children who are either housebound or live in Israel’s peripheral communities. These specialists travel to where the children with special-needs live, delivering quality therapies – including physical, speech and occupational therapy.
Thanks to that, Nikita can now sit unaided and with help is starting to take steps in his walker.
