“Children with cancer spend weeks (and in cases) many months hospitalised. They do not get to feel the warm rays of sunshine on their faces. Our counsellors and volunteers take the kids out for a day of fun after a bone marrow transplant, a prolonged hospitalisation or prior to surgery. It is our experience that children return from such fun days with higher blood counts, and with stronger physical abilities to deal more effectively with their treatments and side effects. There is no doubt that, thanks to JCD’s generosity, of this wonderful vehicle donation, Rachashei Lev’s children will be able to fight cancer with a smile!” – Orna Shalomoff, Rachashei Lev.

Through generous legacies left in wills, Jewish Child’s Day has been fortunate enough to launch an Exceptional Grants process. This initiative only commenced in early 2019 and has allowed us to award sums over and above our standard grant application limits. This year we awarded funds to purchase a fully adapted vehicle for disabled and sick children to be transported easily to and from their hospital appointments or for a much-needed day out.

Jewish Child’s Day are proud to support Rachashei Lev in Israel to help more children each year.
