Ten-year-old Eliezer, who copes with the challenges of a sight-impairment and ADHD, is one of seven children and lives with his family in the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Ata.
When studies were moved to Zoom in Spring 2020, Eliezer was overwhelmed by the challenges. It was very difficult for him to cope with hours in front of the screen, and he fell behind significantly – not only with the curriculum, but also with his capacity to study and with his self-confidence. Ofek liyladenu, is the Israel National Association of Parents of Children with Visual Impairments. They provided a specially trained tutor for Eliezer and he has made significant strides in closing gaps with his peers since he began his weekly session with his tutor.
